Meet Our Readers – Melanie Pryor

Melanie Pryor is an Adelaide writer who looks at place, memory, and poetics in her work. Last year, Melanie came runner-up in the Overland Story Wine Prize for her dark lyrical piece “Salt Skin.” It’s well worth a read if you like evocative and unsettling writing. “Salt Skin” was published in Overland and you can read it here.

At The Hearth: Bodies and Landscapes Melanie will be reading a piece that explores the interweavings of memory, water, place, and the self. She has a beautiful reading voice, so prepare to be entranced by her melodic murmurings!
