Finally, we are delighted to welcome back Richard Falkner to the Hearth. Richard’s poetry will explore childhood, puberty and all its loves and losses through the role the sea has played as a liminal space as he grew up on the beaches of Brighton and Glenelg.
Richard Falkner is an emerging Adelaide writer who holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Creative Writing) degree from Flinders University. Currently completing an Honours degree, Richard writes primarily short stories – many which contain historical elements and feature South Australian settings. In addition to short stories, Richard has a comedic novel simmering on the back burner which will be the first thing picked up once his academic ambitions are fulfilled. Richard is a regular contributor of poetry, short fiction, and non-fiction to Empire Times. His story Suspension of Thought won the magazine’s 2016 Creativity Competition fiction prize.
